Written by Paul Komarek Californian's made history on November 4, 2008 by throwing the civil rights movement back forty years and the animal rights movement forward forty years. And while I am a firm proponent of animal rights, I am also a proponent of equal rights which is why I am confused as to how such a hateful and discriminatory measure named Proposition 8 was even permitted to be voted on this election year.
